Suprisingly, in many cases open source software will be more reliable and secure than it's commercial counterparts. Additionally, in almost all cases it will save your company large amounts of money. Often, when an application is developed and deployed on open source software the cost savings of deploying the application on open source software are equivalent or more than the cost of the development.
